Rama picRama Ziegenhals Founder and Director

Rama is the Founder and Director of PAX Center for Christian Spiritual Formation. She received her Masters in Spiritual Formation and Leadership from Spring Arbor University; and, her certificate in spiritual direction in 2006 through the Listen Course. She offers spiritual direction in both Essex and Cambridge. She values spiritual direction as a place of discovery and awareness of God’s abiding and transforming love. She is a member of the Evangelical Spiritual Director’s Network and serves on its Guidance Team.  In addition to spiritual direction, her ministry experience includes leading retreats, workshops, and spiritual formation small groups. She is also invited as a speaker on retreats and various events. In her younger days, she spent 13 years as a corporate banker with a passion for integrating faith and work. She enjoys her friends, hiking, and spending time with her family in the mountains of New Hampshire. She lives in Essex with her husband the Rev., Dr. Timothy Ziegenhals  and their two daughters.

Lisa brings a joy for life and serving God’s church to the PAX team. She currently serves as the church administrator at The First Congregational Church of Essex where she has been a member since 1989 serving in multiple leadership capacities. She brings with her skills in creating and maintaining websites. Lisa has entrepreneurial experience in creating her own home based business, owning a gift store and creating a web based business with her husband. Lisa’s deep passion is for children serving with CE, VBS and the youth group where she co-lead five mission trips as well as three multigenerational mission trips including overseas. She spent many years coaching middle and high school field hockey and lacrosse and also became a high school sports photographer. She enjoys playing tennis, skiing with family and friends, traveling, movies, photography, large dogs and cats. She lives in Essex, MA with her husband Bill and has 2 grown children.

 

TimTimothy Ziegenhals  Program Director & Board Member

Tim began serving the First Congregational Church of Essex as their senior pastor in 1994. He desires to help others see and treasure Jesus in all of his beauty, and so be moved to worship, serve, and live increasingly like him, for their own sake, the sake of others, and the sake of God’s kingdom and glory.

Tim holds his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, Massachusetts, a D.Min. in discipleship from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA, and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Mercy Center, Colorado Springs, CO. Before entering the ministry, he worked for a number of years in the area of corporate lending in Chicago and Boston. He enjoys cycling, hiking, listening to music, and just hanging out in the mountains of N.H. He is married to Rama and they have two daughters, Thais and Iela.

Shirley Paz serves as Director of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care at West Church in Haverhill, MA, where she has been on staff since 2007.  A trained spiritual director, speaker and teacher, she has also written Biblical commentary for the Baptist Sunday School Board (now Lifeway), worked on staff for Vision New England, and is a member of the Evangelical Spiritual Director’s Network.  In addition to her roles within the faith community, Shirley values time with her husband Carlos, serving with Missionary Air Group primarily in Honduras, her adult children, and seven grandchildren.

Doug brings over forty years of ministry experience working with people and seeking their transformation. This internal focus combines with his missional desire that God’s glory fill the whole earth. Doug’s ministry began working with university students with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and then moved into the church arena, serving in a wide range of roles. During that time he ministered cross-culturally on six continents resourcing national churches and missionaries in spiritual formation. Currently he is Co-Pastor with his wife Adele at Redeemer Community Church in Needham. He is a trained spiritual director and a certified Enneagram trainer/test administrator for the Wagner Enneagram Personality Profiles Spectrum. He enjoys cooking, movies, golf, nature, scuba diving and wine tasting. Doug and Adele have two children. Nathaniel and his wife Elie live and work in Africa. Annaliese lives and works in St. Louis. Doug is a graduate of Miami University (B.S) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div. and D.Min. in Christian Spirituality).
